Daniel-Perry-PhotoI’m currently a research scientist at Thalmic Labs in the Waterloo Region of Ontario. We research and design new wearable technologies to transform how people live, work, play, and collaborate.

I was most recently a Data Science Postdoctoral Scholar at UC Berkeley’s School of Information and a member of the BioSENSE Lab. I also taught in the Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) Program. Prior to that, I conducted research in the Human-Centered Data Science Lab at the University of Washington and at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab in the Computational Research Division. I hold a BA from Brown University, a Master of Information Management & Systems from UC Berkeley, and a PhD in Human Centered Design & Engineering from the University of Washington. When I’m not at a computer or dry-erase board, I can usually be found outdoors hiking, boating, or cross-country skiing. Feel free to get in touch!
